We believe that the study of music has a significant impact on the intellectual grace of a child and that this has a significant impact on whether they will pursue the hard sciences like science and engineering.  Harford County is on the verge of growth due to BRAC affecting Aberdeen Proving Ground.  Employers are interested in attracting and keeping employees with these skills, and these employees are looking for a community with an active arts culture.  Communities with orchestras attract “super citizens” – volunteers, voters, philanthropists and other active  civic-minded participants and the presence of an orchestra is an indicator of a community’s economic health.  If you are interested in becoming a corporate sponsor, contact the SSO president.

Consistent corporate sponsorship will stabilize the funding base of the orchestra and allow for the planning of creative special events.
