He is also a member of “Steel Pandemic” steel drum band and participates in the music program at his church. Allan and his wife Betsy live in Bel Air and are enjoying being grandparents. “In 1978, Maestro Bair and I were neighbors. Sheldon mentioned that he had just started an orchestra. My wife mentioned that I played drums. Sheldon asked if I would like to join. I said I’ll try it. It has been a challenging, rewarding, and amazing experience to perform great music with great musicians. Our performances in NYC at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and Carnegie Hall were particularly memorable events. I also recall constructing and playing two unusual instruments – a “thunder sheet” for a David Finko piece and an “anvil” for the Feuerfest Polka. Did I forget to mention I have fun too?”
