Mr. Folus is the Music Director of the Harford Youth Orchestra and is on the Music Faculty of Harford Community College. Mr. Folus is also the conductor of the Concert Strings Orchestra for the Elizabethtown Summer Music Camp. Mr. Folus was for many years the Principal Bassist for the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra. He now frequently guest conducts the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Folus has also been a guest clinician, conductor, and adjudicator for several county school systems in Maryland. Mr. Folus taught instrumental music in Harford County, MD, for 34 years before retiring in June 2019. Mr. Folus received his Bachelor of Music Education in 1985 from Towson University; he earned his Master of Music Degree from West Chester University, Pennsylvania in 1993. Mr. Folus has also completed an additional 30 graduate credits at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. In 2004, Mr. Folus had his arrangement of Symphony No. 1 by William Boyce published by Highland-Etling Publishers, the String Orchestra division of Alfred Music Publishing. Mr. Folus has studied conducting with Dr. Leigh M. Martinet, Mr. Raymond Moore, and Maestro Leonid Grin. Mr. Folus lives in Bel Air, Maryland with his wife Tammy and their children.
